Guest rooms (chambres d'hôtes) in Monnickendam, at Paula's place

In 2007 the old Haystack has been rebuilt with respect to its original design. The romance of former days has been completed with comfort and luxuriously of the present.

On the ground floor is a double room, which is suitable for wheelchair users. The room has an extra wide bathroom with toilet and shower. The opening doors give entrance to the terrace. Each morning an ample breakfast will wait for you in the comfortable breakfast room.
On the first floor are two double rooms, the extra wide beds (90x220) will ensure a perfect night's rest. One of the rooms has a luxuriously bathroom with bath and the other room has a wide shower.
All rooms have a kitchen with refrigerator and the possibility of making coffee or tea.
The first room on the second floor has a bathroom with shower.
The cozy chair offers a view over the lake called "de Leek", a lake with a possibility to fish or sail around. The last room has been carried out with a giant bubble bath and naturally you have television on each room. If you wish, you can get your breakfast served in your room. All this luxury makes this room ideal as wedding suite or to celebrate your (wedding) anniversary.

If you book the whole haystack with family or friends, you can use all of the kitchen, so a luxuriously group accommodation arises

As from the ring Amsterdam (A10) you take the junction Volendam.
You should follow the road with the direction to Volendam until Monnickendam.
At the first traffic lights, just before Monnickendam, you enter left into the polder.
At the end of the road you find at the right-hand side "Hoeve Meerzicht".

As from Hoorn you follow the traffic sign with direction Volendam.
As from Volendam you follow the traffic sign with direction Monnickendam.
At Monnickendam arrived you enter at the second trafic lights right into the polder.
At the end of the road you find at the right-hand side "Hoeve Meerzicht".

The green surroundings of Monnickendam invite you for several excursions by the extended landscape. The recently introduced button point scheme offers you the possibility of making bicycle excursions as long as you wishes. In the summer you can rent a boot or canoe from the lake "de Leek" (adjacent to the Monnickenmeer) to examine "Waterland" from the water. Enjoy the serenity, silence and discover the beauty of nature. Also in the wintertime when the water is frozen up, you can see "Waterland" by ice skating. And if it freezes real hard you could even reach Marken by ice skating!

If you want somewhat more touristic, then we would recommend a day out to Broek in Waterland, Marken, Edam or Volendam. Also Amsterdam is in ideal reach with the public transport, within 15 minutes you arrive at the central station. And in this dynamic city everyone has something to whish for. The many museums, with the boat through the canals, a walk in "de Jordaan" or catch a terrace on "Het Leidseplein", you soon will be short on time!
