The family room, suited for 3/4 people, features an enclosed balcony, walk-in closet and bathroom view of Lion’s Head. Original Oregon pine flooring, classically-restored antique furniture and high ceilings reinforce the nostalgia of this historic building and its past occupants.

Via N2 / Airport/ Garden Route):

Drive out of airport onto the N2 direction Cape Town City. Follow N2 until the motorway divides, staying in the left hand lane.
Follow the Sign “De Waal Drive/Cableway”, staying in the left lane.
De Waal Drive goes first up then down the hill into town. As you are coming down the hill into town, go slow (speed camera-60km/h). As you see the first houses (a complex with brown houses on the right side) there will be a sign “Cableway” on the left side.
Attention: Do not take the exit Vredehoek!

Take the second curve left after the “Cableway” sign, onto the bridge. After the turnoff, there is a tall high-rise building on the left (the only one) with GARDEN CENTRE written on top and illuminated at night.
Drive past the Garden Centre and turn left at the first traffic light into Breda Street. Turn left after 300m/ at stop street (Prince street). Take the first left into the narrow Jagersfontein Lane. Nr. 1 is the first house on the left side.

Via N1:

Follow the N1 with direction to Cape Town City into town. Then, about 2 km ahead (Buitengracht Rd.), you reach a traffic light with the road sign M3 / “De Waal Drive”, turn left in the Buitensingel (downhill).
When you pass the entrance of the Mount Nelson Hotel, drive further passing 2 traffic lights. After the ENGEN petrol station (on the left) turn right at the robot into Breda Street. Turn left after 300m/ 2nd street (Prince street). Take the first left into the narrow Jagersfontein Lane. Nr. 1 is the first house on the left side.

Conifer Cape in Cape Town, South Africa is an elegant Victorian house built in the 1880’s. Situated in Oranjezicht on the slopes of Table Mountain, it is very central – near the Gardens Shopping Complex, the V&A Waterfront, the Conference Centre (CTICC), Green Point Stadium and historical sites. A short hop over Kloof Nek will take you to Camps Bay’s spectacular beaches, Hout Bay and Cape Point. For the working traveler, a refuge in the city.


Passed down through five generations of musicians from famous violinists to composers and conductors, Conifer Cape has now opened her doors so that all may experience her rich musical heritage. Owners Peter Louis (composer) and Junita (conducts the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University choir) van Dijk have adorned the house throughout with original artwork, collectors’ item musical instruments, china and photographs.
