Host Family Definition
A family or just one person can accommodate at his/her place on an occasional basis and will usually ask or not for a financial compensation to the visitor. In our customs, a host familyshould necessarily be compounded of several members. Today, this notion belongs to a bygone era: numerous single persons (men & women) are now hosting tourists so as to make their every day life more meaningful and rewarding. If you have one or more bedrooms available (because your child has just gone for i.e), you can host. It is usually the occasion for the family and the guest to share their culture, their hobbies/interests or learn a language. You can find the term "host family" in the twinning of two towns. In general, the accommodation is free. In the Anglo-saxon countries, these "host families" get paid in return of the time they have spent with their guests and the service they have brought them. Today, this phenomenon is fast growing especially with students because it just represents one of the best way to learn & know a culture. Besides, other categories of individuals have recently been interested in this new way of accommodation: tourists such as backpakers, hikers, bikers, cyclists, couples, families, senior people but also some businessmen & women & professors. From the host's point of view, being a host family can also generate many advantages such as extra money, but also and especially a real openness to the World. However, we will note a legal gap in this pretty informal new activity.

The independant rooms to rent or flat/houseshare
Sharing a room or a house is a more and more common thing to do nowadays. The change in the cost of housing makes the consideration of roommates more attractive. As the housing market increases, so too does the roommate ratio rate. When house prices drop, the opposite can be expected. This has been seen extensively in cities such as Washington D.C., Phoenix, and San Diego. Another contribution to the roommate boom has been the successful French movie 'L'Auberge Espagnole' by French director Cédric Klapisch. In this movie a young French student moves to Barcelona in a shared apartment with people coming from different countries. Student exchanges are getting more and more popular with globalization and has influenced a lot in the Roommate Boom. The Erasmus exchange program in Europe has contributed as being the biggest exchange program in Europe. Exchange students can live in university residences but a growing amount want to share apartments with other international students in shared apartments. Roommates and house-sharing are not limited to students and young adults however. American politicians Chuck Schumer, William Delahunt, Richard Durbin, and George Miller famously share a house in Washington, D.C. while Congress is in session.
An important thing to consider when choosing a roommate is how to divide the cost of living. Who pays for what, or are the shared expenses divided between the two or more roomies. Can the person your considering as a roommate even be trusted to pay their share and trusted to pay it on time? Sleeping patterns can also be disrupted when living with a number of people, so it is therefore important to choose housemates wisely.

The apartment to rent
An apartment is a self-contained housing unit that occupies only part of a building. Apartments may be owned (by an owner-occupier) or rented (by tenants). The term "apartment" is favored in North America, whereas the term "flat" is sometimes, but not exclusively used in the United Kingdom and most other English-speaking areas and Commonwealth nations[citation needed]. Some apartment-dwellers own their apartments, either as co-ops, in which the residents own shares of a corporation that owns the building or development; or in condominiums, whose residents own their apartments and share ownership of the public spaces. Most apartments are in buildings designed for the purpose, but large older houses are sometimes divided into apartments. The word apartment connotes a residential unit or section in a building. Apartment building owners, lessors, or managers often use the more general word units to refer to apartments. Units can be used to refer to rental business suites as well as residential apartments. When there is no tenant occupying an apartment, the lessor is said to have a vacancy. For apartment lessors, each vacancy represents a loss of income from rent-paying tenants for the time the apartment is vacant (i.e., unoccupied). Lessors' objectives are often to minimize the vacancy rate for their units. The owner of the apartment typically when transferring possession to the occupant(s) gives him/her the key to the apartment entrance door(s) and any other keys needed to live there, such as a common key to the building or any other common areas, and an individual unit mailbox key. When the occupant(s) move out, these keys are typically returned to the owner(src: wikipédia).

Yurt Definition
A Yurt is a portable, felt-covered, wood lattice-framed dwelling structure used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. The word Yurt is the name commonly used to refer to a Mongolian Felt Tent or Ger. Mongolians do not usually appreciate the term because it is most often used by Western invaders.
Different groups and individuals use yurts for a variety of purposes, from full-time housing to school rooms. In some provincial parks in Canada, and state parks in several US states, permanent yurts are available for camping. Others are used to exclusively host tourists from everywhere in the World. They usually are bed and breakfast.Yurts at Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia
Studio apartment
Studio, efficiency, bedsit and bachelor style apartments all tend to be the smallest apartments with the lowest rents in a given area. These kinds of apartments usually consist mainly of a large room which is the living, dining, and bedroom combined. There are usually kitchen facilities as part of this central room, but the bathroom is its own smaller separate room(src: wikipédia).

Condominium
A condominium, or condo, is a form of housing tenure. It is the legal term used in the United States and in most provinces of Canada. In Australia and the Canadian province of British Columbia it is referred to as strata title. Quebec knows it as syndicates of co-ownership. In England and Wales the equivalent is commonhold, a form of ownership introduced in 2004 and at this time is uncommon. Colloquially, the term "condo" is often used to refer to the unit itself in place of the word "apartment". Technically, the condominium is the whole collection of individual home units along with the land upon which they sit. Individual home ownership is composed of only of the air-space within the boundaries of the home, as defined by a document known as a Declaration, filed of record with the local governing authority. Typically these boundaries will include the sheetrock surrounding a room, allowing the homeowner to make some interior modifications without impacting the common area. Anything outside this boundary is held in an undivided ownership interest by a corporation established at the time of the condominium’s creation. The corporation holds this property in trust on behalf of the homeowners as a group–-it does not have ownership itself. Big cities like Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and Miami are big city condo users. Also Detroit has been invaded with luxury condo developers who have helped transform the city to its former glory. The primary attraction to this type of ownership is the ability to obtain affordable housing in a highly-desirable area that typically is beyond economic reach. Additionally, such properties benefit from having restrictions that maintain and enhance value, providing control over blight that plagues some neighborhoods (src: wikipedia)
Loft
Loft mainly refers to two different types of rooms. It typically refers to an upper story or attic in a building, directly under the roof. Alternatively, it can refer to a loft apartment which is a large adaptable open space either created or converted for residential use.
