Hannetjie and Willem van Rooyen are born in Namibia and fell in love with the Namib desert around Sossusvlei. Today they love to show their guests this grand and beautiful countryside with its soft coulours, the wide open plains, the mountains and the great dunes of the Namib. On your way to Sossusvlei, at Barchan Dune Retreat, you will find congenial hosts, excellent cuisine and something special: a lodge built into a dune with elegantly furnished rooms. Itinéraire
From Windhoek via Rehoboth (220km): Drive on the B1 in the direction of REHOBOTH, pass Rehoboth and 4 km after Rehoboth turn off to the right at the sign 'KLEIN AUB'. Drive on the C 24 till the sign 'NAUCHAS/SOLITAIRE' then turn to the right on the D 1261. After NAUCHAS turn off to the right on the D 1275 which takes you over SPREETSHOOGTE PASS. Approximately 20 km from the pass on the left hand side you will find the sign of BARCHAN DUNE RETREAT. From the entrance it is 3 km to the accommodation. From Swakopmund (280km): Drive on the B 2 to WALVIS BAY. At the circle turn off on the C 14. Stay on the C 14 till the sign NAUCHAS on the left, turn off on the D 1275. Drive on the D1275 till you reach the sign Barchan Dune Retreat on the right hand side. From the entrance it is 3 km to the accommodation. From Maltahöhe (200km): Drive on the C14 in the direction of SOLITAIRE. After Solitaire approximately 9 km turn off on the right-hand side on the D 1275 for 15 km to reach the sign of Barchan Dune Retreat. From the entrance it is 3 km to the accommodation. PLEASE BE SURE THAT THE GAS TANK OF YOUR CAR IS FILLED BEFORE LEAVING FROM WINDHOEK OR WALVISBAY THE NEAREST GAS STATION IS AT SOLITAIRE. Landing strip: S 23° 45' 346
