Description of the space proposed to travellers:
A beautiful, sunny and very large lovingly furnished space for three people, this PURPLE ROOM is located in a historical four stories brownstone with original wood details from the 1800s, on a lovely quiet street, one block away from subway, Laundromat, supermarket, and shopping. Close by are restaurants, more groceries and supermarkets, wine bars, cafés, restaurants, a branch of the Brooklyn Library, the Brooklyn Museum. Guests will have private use of a fully functional, modern, all stainless steel kitchen on the upstairs floor and an elegant living room to lounge, chat, relax, watch TV, or read, choosing books in English or Italian from the well stoked library. The whole house has WiFi.

The PURPLE ROOM is gracefully furnished with a sofa, a coffee table, an antique dresser, a shelved closet, a clothes’ rack, and a desk/table, and two large iron beds (a queen size bed and an antique French size bed). This room accommodates three people comfortably. There is a fee of 20$per night for the third guest.
A private bathroom, with a shower only, and a sink are in the room.
Linens and towels are provided by us.

Cleaning is once a week and costs 25$ per week.
Please note that when rented per month this room is only rented to one or two people maximum.

Two more rooms in the same house (THE BLUE ROOM and THE RED ROOM) can be rented alone or together with the PURPLE ROOM, depending on availability, by families or groups up to six or seven people. The RED ROOM has a queen size bed and sleeps two, and so does the BLUE ROOM. Both rooms have their private bathrooms (The BLUE ROOM has a claw feet bathtub while the RED ROOM has a shower only).

The Living room and the upstairs guest kitchen are shared with the other guests. It is fully functional, modern, all stainless steel. Dishwasher, microwave, oven.
The kitchen is on the third floor of the house, the three bedrooms are on between the second and the first floor, (the Blue and the Purple Room on the second floor and the Red Room on the first).
The Living room is large and comfortable; it has a well stoked library with English and Italian books, and a Satellite TV. Guests are welcome to sit down and lounge.
Children are welcome. In fact we adore them.
We have cats in the house. If you are even slightly allergic, please do not inquire with us.
Linens and towels are provided by us and turning of the beds (with the change of sheets and towel) as well as cleaning of the rooms, bathrooms and general house cleaning happens once a week. There is a $25 weekly charge for this service.
We do not provide beach towels.
SMOKING IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED IN THE HOUSE. OWNERS ALLERGIC.

Our home is relaxed and the atmosphere is very laid back. We, the owners, live on the premises but we have our own kitchen and our own private spaces, so we are always available when we are needed and present to our guests as much or as little as it is comfortable for everybody.

Note: Guests must be cat lovers, however no cats or dogs are allowed (we already have cats, which you are welcome to spoil and visit with).
PLEASE: IF YOU ARE EVEN SLIGHTLY ALLERGIC TO PETS, THIS HOUSE IS UNFORTUNATELY NOT FOR YOU. EVEN THOUGH CATS ARE KEPT AWAY AS A GENRAL RULE FROM GUESTS ROOMS THEY ARE FREE TO GO AROUND THE HOUSE AND MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN YOUR ROOM WITH OTHER GUESTS BEFORE).

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

We are in New York! And Brooklyn is the new hip place of the city, with plenty of culture and shopping during the day and an exciting night life: restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas, theaters, museums, art galleries, the Brooklyn Academy of Music with a full program of events 365 days a year, Prospect Park -a fantastic park-, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Brooklyn Museum of Arts and so many different neighborhoods to explore.

Our neighborhood is called Bedford Stuyvesant: historically African American, Caribbean, and African, in the past few years it is becoming the new mecca for writers and artists of all ethnic backgrounds. There is plenty of music here, and ethnic restaurants, nouvelle cuisine, coffee shops, and wine bars.

Notable Brooklyn neighborhoods reachable in a few minutes via bus, subway or walking along the lovely tree lined streets flanked by historical brownstones are Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, and Brooklyn Heights, neighborhoods by the rich day and night life. The Brooklyn Bridge is ten minutes away on the subway.
From the bustling Fulton Avenue, just a block away from our street, you can take a bus to the artsy neighborhood of Williamsburg.

The subway is only one stop away from our home (the blue line, train C). Manhattan is twenty minutes away (Soho, the West village, the East Village, the lower East Side and Chinatown).
Bedford Stuyvesant is close to both JFK airport and LaGuardia airport (less than thirty minutes by car, and JFK is 45 minutes by subway) and the Long Island Railroad, which gives you quick access to Long Island.
And Coney Island, our closest beach, is a half hour away on the subway.

Just back from my journey in NY. I spent 11 nights in Tiziana's house. She and her husband are great hosts and I've really appreciated when we've had time to talk and exchange about our lives and experiences.
The house is as discribed, a big one. My bed room (blue one) was big, offering a lot of space. I really appreciated having my own bathroom and comodity.
Tiziana gives you your own kees of the "castle" so that you can come and go to your will.
You have full access to the kitchen and a place dedicated for you in the fridg to keep your food. I found that very convenient, to be able to cook, having your breakfast, preparing or just reheating your meal.
If you don't want to stay in your bedroom after your day out door, you can just seat in the leaving room with a book or watching tv. You really are at home.
And the Cherry over the cake, you're just a 3 mn walk from Kingston Throop Avs station. So you're never too far from what you want to visit or directly or just having a change or two. Also very convinient if you land at JFK.
So in few words .... For sure to be done again with pleasure !

Soggiorno bellissimo. Tiziana sempre disponibile e gentile. Le camere sono classiche e molto confortevoli. Comoda alla Metro linea blue (5 minuti a piedi). Ottima alternativa alla caotica città.
